Pastel Painting: August at Warner Creek

Reminiscing about the heat of summer on these frigid days, I pulled up a photo I took while strolling with my dog Cosmo. The scene is near Pittsfield Township Hall in Michigan. It was a humid August morning and the wildflowers were being wild along the water.

I used a variety of blending techniques and softening edges in this 9x12 pastel painting. A while back I shared my technique on the Uart website. Click here to see my quick lesson.

My Etsy shop includes a variety of pastel paintings available for sale. As a blog visitor, you can receive a discount on paintings. Click here for the coupon, which will take you directly to the site.

Think Summer!!!
