Continuing my Winter 2022 pastel landscape series, "Radiance" is fresh off my easel this week, depicting a "warm" and inviting snow scene at a park near Ann Arbor, Michigan.
The scene is a late afternoon in January, a clear blue sky, and plenty of snow coverage on the landscape. The sharpness of the bold shadows and edges of the tree and its branches were particularly intriguing. This pastel introduced the challenge of distinguishing several horizontal planes in the landscape.
With "Radiance," I made use of my studio technology tools to bring out the bold colors of this winter landscape.
