The latest landscape painting in my Pacific Northwest (PNW) series. This 12x16 pastel painting was inspired by a hike in the Hoh Rainforest in Olympic National Park in March, 2019. The Hoh Rainforest is a temperate rainforest located in Olympic National Park. This painting is part of my PNW (Pacific Northwest) pastel series. This 9x12 pastel painting was inspired by a hike in the rainforest in early March. "Hoh Rainforest" had a rather unique upbringing. I used Uart 320 grade sanded paper, which is rougher than the typical 400 grade used in most of my pastels. I created a heavy acrylic under-painting of complementary colors, then ventured to keep the
