Strolling through the ancient streets of Pompeii in Italy in 2016, I came across this scene with Mount Vesuvius in the distance. The old stone ruins of the former city glowed in the summer heat and contrasted with the deep blue sky. Soft pastel on Uart 320 grade paper, 9x12.
